Art Pope is a very influential figure in North Carolina and, as he's risen through the ranks he's become a rather controversial one as well. Chairman, CEO and President of Variety Wholesalers and a foundation, he is also the state budget director, appointed to the job by Governor McCrory, for whose campaign Pope volunteered.
