Moving To Charlotte/ Ghost

Moving to Charlotte

There are lots of ways to find things to do in Charlotte if you’re visiting the area- websites, tourist books and magazines- but what to do if you’re moving here and you want an all encompassing guide to your new hometown? Author Harry Hoover has his answer to this question in his new book, Moving to Charlotte. The book is designed to educate new Charlotteans on everything from our Revolutionary War history, to our climate, taxes, neighborhoods and community groups, schools and more.

  Ghost

In 1990, movie goers all over the world watched the tragic love story in the blockbuster Ghost-- Sam and Molly, separated by a murder, and brought together through a medium named Oda Mae, to solve the murder. As many successful movies are, Ghost was made into a musical theatrical production, which has now arrived in Charlotte. But this production is technically difficult, because of the elements of the story that deal with, well, ghosts. We’ll be joined by cast members and the stage manager to talk about the theatrical adaptation of Ghost, and in how some of the special effects will be brought to life on stage.

Guests
Steven Grant Douglas - "Sam" in Ghost
Carla R. Stewar - "Oda Mae" in Ghost
