Man Tries To Enter Security Hubs At CPCC Campuses
Central Piedmont Community College officials are investigating two attempted security breaches at two different campuses last week. WCNC reports that a man posing as a mechanical systems vendor and a repairman tried to access sensitive service areas at the Harris and Harper campuses on Thursday. CPCC's security personnel denied the man entrance. Among other things, the sensitive areas housed controls for the campus' security systems, fire alarms, and smoke detectors. The two attempted breaches occurred days after the school's officials agreed to let their main Elizabeth campus be used as the Democratic National Convention's security hub. The Elizabeth campus, however, was not targeted.
