Mammoth Hunter

On this edition of Charlotte Talks with Mike Collins, we're joined by a bonafide Mammoth Hunter? Dr. Larry Agenbroad is the director of the Mammoth Site of Hot Springs, South Dakota. He was the only American who participated on an international team of scientists who raised an almost complete wooly mammoth from its Siberian frozen tomb in 1999. Back in the United States, at the Hot Springs Mammoth Site, he oversees the excavation of a huge sinkhole where dozens of wooly mammoths have been identified. He's in town as the featured speaker at the Schiele Museum's Fossil Fair this weekend, and first, he'll join us to talk about raising the mammoth, current research, the ethics of cloning and more. Join us for a fascinating paleontological discussion. Find out more at www.mammothsite.com. Contact the show: 704-926-9323, 800-603-9323, charlottetalks@wfae.org or comment on our blog.
