Recently, the Charlotte City Council was informed of additional cost overruns related to the light rail project being built in Charlotte. Council members were upset, because Ron Tober, head of Charlotte Area Transit System and City Manager Pam Syfert knew about the budget problems nearly two months before the council was notified. Meanwhile, the public is upset about escalating costs for the project. WFAE's Craig Fahle spoke with City Manager Pam Syfert about the project and its problems. He asked her if the federal funding for the project is in jeopardy due to the latest cost overruns.
