Less Road Travel: Less Filling-up

http://66.225.205.104/SO20080623.mp3

A recent report by the Federal Highway Administration shows there were 30-billion fewer vehicle miles driven between last November and this April, than in the same period the year before. That's the lowest number of miles tracked since the 1979-1980 period, when the country was having a gas shortage. The numbers mean fewer people are fueling up. WFAE's Simone Orendain asked the North Carolina Department of Transportation's Chief Financial Officer, Mark Foster whether this is having an impact on the department's tax revenues.
