Katyn Forest Massacre (Rebroadcast)
By Charlotte Talks
During World War II, the Soviets massacred 22,000 Poles in Stalin’s Russia. On Monday, it was announced that in 1943, American POWs sent secret coded messages to Washington with news of the atrocity. The US might have been able to use that information to rescue Poland from its post-war fate under the Soviets but did nothing. North Carolina author Allen Paul, an expert on the massacre, joined us in 2010 to talk about it. That conversation, when Charlotte Talks.
