International Jazz Day

Apr 30, 2014

Three years ago, April 30 was designated as International Jazz Day to highlight jazz and its diplomatic role of uniting people in all corners of the globe. Jazz is an American-born musical art form that is not only diverse itself, but promotes diversity. The genre continues to evolve, maintain relevance and influence other types of music. Charlotte’s jazz scene may leave a little to be desired, but education and local support for jazz is strengthening.
