Girls on the Run

Girls on the Run The founder of the now international organization, Girls on the Run, joins us on the next edition of Charlotte Talks with Mike Collins. Thirteen years ago, Molly Barker began a small grassroots organization in the Charlotte area to help girls gain self-esteem and self-love through running. The organization has been a raging success, and thousands of girls throughout the region, the country-- and now the world are benefiting from its healthy lessons for young women. Molly Barker has now written a book for girls from 3rd-8th grade called "Girls Lit From Within: A Guide to Life Outside the Girl Box," outlining daily practices that assist girls in making healthy decisions for their lives. We'll talk about the evolution of this once local organization and meet some of the original girls to find out what they're doing now. Joins us for that conversation when Charlotte Talks. Guests Molly Barker - Founder, Girls on the Run Liz Kunz - Current President, Girls on the Run Original Members of Girls on the Run
