A series of forums this week will focus on the challenges the Charlotte area faces as the region continues to grow. Throughout the week local and state leaders will be addressing issues that range from growth and infrastructure to the economy and affordable housing. City Council member Anthony Foxx says he organized the series as a way to get some perspective on the main challenges the city confronts. "The idea here is to sort-of step back away from a real time decision and talk about where are we really going as a community and what strategies will get us there," said Foxx. The series begins tonight at seven with a discussion about strategies for a rapidly growing city. Tomorrow Charlotte Mecklenburg Police Chief Rodney Monroe and former Superior Court Judge Shirley Fulton will be part of a panel on improving the efficiency of the criminal justice system. All meetings are open to the public and will be held at the Charlotte Mecklenburg Government Center.
