The flu is the worst it’s been in years. Twenty-six children have died from it this year and we’re only half way through flu season. Getting a flu shot has never been a slam dunk but this year’s virus mutated after vaccines were developed and produced which has caused the flu to reach epidemic proportions. Among the scientists studying the disease is UNC Charlotte’s Dr. Dan Janies. We pick his brain about the virus, about genomics and more.
