East Charlotte Residents to Tell Council of Wanted Changes
The most pressing issue for the Eastside Political Action Committee concerns a zoning change to Independence Boulevard.
Ed Garber, the group's chairman says current zoning laws are too restrictive on how close businesses can get to the road.
Garber says the east side is also absorbing too many residents on subsidized housing. He says this population should be equally distributed throughout the city.
City officials says they can't tell people where to live.
