Jennifer Roberts is out and Harold Cogdell is in as chairman of the Mecklenburg County Commission. In an interview with WFAE's Mark Rumsey, Cogdell takes issue with words like "oust" and "maneuver" that were used to describe the politics of what occurred.
"I have to take exception with "maneuver" and 'oust,' he said. I don't think that's the accurate description of what occurred."
Cogdell, a Democrat, won the chairmanship with the support of the Commission's four Republicans. Yes, it's unconventional, Cogdell admits. But he says more non-partisanship is needed in politics.
