CMPD is investigating two homicides that happened Tuesday night. The department says officers responding to a robbery call in a business park on Amity Court in east Charlotte around 11:15 p.m found a male victim inside a business with an apparent gunshot wound. He was pronounced dead at the scene. CMPD says its initial investigation has determined at the time of the shooting the victim was in his office when a male suspect entered the business and confronted the victim and a female witness.

Around 8:30 p.m. Tuesday, CMPD says it responded to an assault with a deadly weapon incident on Timberbrook Drive in west Charlotte. The department says officers found a male in the outside common area of an apartment complex with apparent stab wounds. Police say he was taken to the hospital, where he was pronounced dead. CMPD says its initial investigation has revealed that a group of individuals were arguing when a physical altercation occurred between several of the subjects present. Police say during this fight, an unknown suspect stabbed the victim and then fled the scene. CMPD has not released either of the victims' names. There have now been 75 homicides in Charlotte this year.  There were 69 homicides in all of last year.
