Charlotte Talks Local News Roundup: 'Unprecedented' Interest in Panthers; Red Line to Lake Norman

Friday, March 30th 2018

There's 'unprecedented' interest for potential bidders for the Carolina Panthers. Cardinal Health sues its former CEO, and an anesthesiology group sues Atrium Health.  People are talking about the Red Line train to Lake Norman and new ideas emerge for the old Eastland Mall site.  Those and other stories with Mike Collins and the roundup reporters on the Local News Roundup.

On the Local News Roundup...

Cardinal Health is suing its former CEO for severance money after an investigation found that Richard Topping breached his contract with a number of actions, including making plans to start his own company and taking files from Cardinal’s internal drives. We’ll get into the details.

In other health news, anesthesiologists are suing Atrium Health because they say the hospital system and a new contractor conspired to kick them out of the market.

The Lynx Blue Line extended its reach to University this month, but this week the attention turned to whether or not to continue to consider Red Line train to Lake Norman. On Wednesday, there was only one vote to stop the Red Line Study, from Huntersville's mayor. We'll discuss why he is against it.

A serious potential buyer for the Panthers was in town this week- what was the outcome of the visit?  This comes just after NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell said that interest in the team's purchase is 'unprecedented'.

Four proposals from developers were presented this week to City Council for the former Eastland Mall Site. Could the site finally have a viable plan for its future?

Host Mike Collins and the roundup reporters will discuss these stories and more on the local news roundup.
