One of the biggest names in legal thrillers, John Grisham, ditches the courtroom for a beach read for his latest novel. He joins guest host Erik Spanberg.

The courtroom is where you expect to find characters in John Grisham’s novels. He’s built a career on legal thrillers that have become blockbuster films, but for his 30th novel, he tries something new. As The New York Times put it, “Mr. Courtroom has written a beach book.”

Camino Island was released this month, and instead of a lawyer, the main character is a book dealer. And for the first time in decades, Grisham is setting out on a book tour and Charlotte is one of the stops.

Guest host Erik Spanberg talks with him about his latest work, but also the justice system and the South, and why he’s decided to hit the road again.
