An advisory group set up by the NC DOT to study the I-77 toll project met in the Lake Norman area earlier this week and did not allow the public to attend. This could violate the state's open meeting law. We'll talk about what we know about what happened at the meeting and why the meeting was closed.
A raucous and contentious school board meeting this week (including one speaker being physically removed from the meeting) ended in a 7-2 vote for CMS to take a stronger stand in its support for LGBTQ students. What this will mean for those students throughout the district.
Charlotte City Council will begin to broadcast the public forums portion of their meetings this month after an effort to reinstate the live stream by city councilman Braxton Winston as an effort toward increased transparency.
Last week, we learned that Amazon did not name Charlotte to its short list of cities in competition for its second headquarters, but this week, the company gave area leaders some feedback on why Charlotte didn’t make the cut. We’ll go through some reasons and reaction from the Charlotte Regional Partnership.
