Crimes committed against American Muslims are at their highest levels since the aftermath of the September 11 the attacks. Hate crimes in general are on the rise all over the United States. The end of 2017 marked the second straight year to see an increase.
Three years ago this month saw the shooting deaths of three members of Chapel Hill’s Muslim community, by the hands of a neighbor who expressed animosity towards Islam and other religions.
Charlotte's Wedgewood Church saw its seventh instance of hate related vandalism over the last three years.
