Charlotte Talks: Affordable Housing and Upward Mobility with Dr. Tererai Trent

Mike Collins' guest is also Oprah’s all-time favorite guest.  Dr. Tererai Trent is an internationally known humanitarian, educator and author whose latest book recently won the 2018 NAACP Award for Outstanding Literary work.  She rose from humble beginnings in a farming community in Zimbabwe and went on to receive her Ph.D. in America.  She uses her story to inspire others to achieve and follow their dreams.  

From the humblest beginnings in a farming community in rural Zimbabwe and mother of 3 by the time she was 18, to a Ph.D in America and Oprah’s “All-Time Favorite Guest”, Dr. Tererai Trent is the ultimate success story for a woman who made her dreams come true.

Today, Dr. Trent uses her story as a lesson to others to strive for education and follow their own dreams.

Dr. Tererai Trent is in Charlotte this week to speak at the Habitat for Humanity Building Futures Symposium on Affordable Housing.

Mike Collins will be joined by Dr. Tererai Trent to talk about her story, her work in the fields of education and economic mobility and we'll hear how she got the distinction of being "Oprah’s Favorite Guest", on this edition of Charlotte Talks.
