10 Years After 9/11: What Have We Learned? In the days just after September 11th, 2001, Charlotte Talks and other programs scrambled to make sense of that terrible day and why it happened. We endeavored to learn as much as possible about al Qaeda, about simmering tensions in the Middle East and their relation to our foreign policy, and about our porous borders. Ten years and two wars out, we look back on what we knew then, what we've learned and how that knowledge - and 9/11 itself - changed us.
