Morgan has released a new book, this time a biography, about Daniel Boone, Boone: A Biography We'll talk about the American icon and his life story and how our North Carolina city of Boone came to carry his name.

Outlook for the Panthers

The Carolina Panthers host the San Francisco 49ers Sunday at Bank of America Stadium. San Francisco is 3-and-8 this year. The Panthers are 4-and-7. It will very likely be the last time Carolina is favored in a game this year. The Panthers have lost five in a row and they haven't won a home game in over a year. WFAE's Scott Graf talked with Charlotte Observer sports columnist Scott Fowler about the state of the team. He began by asking how soon the losing streak might come to an end.

Lynx First Commute

The first Lynx trains carrying paying passengers departed Monday morning around 5:30. For the whole day, the Charlotte Area Transit system estimates ridership on the train was at 5,000. WFAE's Lisa Miller rode the train and talked with passengers adjusting to a new mode of transportation.
