UNC Charlotte art students have painted the portraits of the 32 victims of the Virginia Tech shootings. WFAE's Lisa Miller spoke with artist Stephen Lursen standing in the school's gallery, where the paintings are displayed. She asked him how his class decided to undertake this project.

Tonight in Mooresville, months of discussions between Mecklenburg County and several towns in the Lake Norman area will culminate in a vote on whether or not a consortium of local governments should purchase the local cable system previously owned by now-bankrupt Adelphia. University City is growing and developing its own identity within the Charlotte metropolitan area. A proposed light rail line would link the city to uptown, but University City area leaders also want to have some autonomy from the Queen City. We'll look at a city on the verge of major growth.
