Assistant Newsroom Producer Intern

"I didn’t fetch coffee or sit in the background. I was readily welcomed to the team and was immediately swept up into the exciting, fast-paced work." – Erin Wygant, 2017 Assistant Newsroom Producer

WFAE’s mission is to create journalism that informs, enriches, and inspires. We believe newscasts should give listeners a snapshot of what’s going on and also enough context to understand why it matters. WFAE seeks an intern to serve as an assistant producer to help strengthen newscasts and assist reporters and hosts. This person will collect and organize audio, conduct interviews, and write newscast scripts. Successful applicants may also report and file their own on-air and online stories. This is a 10-week position during the summer of 2018 that pays $4,000. Some early morning and late evenings are likely, depending on the news.

Send cover letter, resume, and examples of your work to careers@wfae.org. Put "Assistant Producer Intern" in the subject line. The deadline is April 2.
