Fundraising Internship

 

Job Description

Selected intern(s) will have the opportunity to assist a 4-person Membership Team and a 5-person Underwriting team that fundraise for public radio. Intern(s) will assist Sales and Membership Associates in the maintenance of corporate sponsorships, research for clients, preparation of proposals for new and current clients, maintenance of donor database, preparation of fund drives, and processing mailings of receipts, invoices and miscellaneous items.

Intern(s) will become more familiar with the operations of a nonprofit organization and public radio station through opportunities to shadow other departments within the radio station, such as Traffic, News, Marketing, Charlotte Talks, and with the Business Manager and General Manager.

Special Requirements

Intern(s) must be familiar with Microsoft software programs such as Word, Excel, and Power Point and will be introduced to MemSys database software; Lyris email software and Quick Pledge online giving software, as well as, TapScan Qualitap software.  Any courses in communications, marketing, journalism or English will be helpful to the student.

Other Requirements/Comments

Intern(s) must be dedicated to working a minimum of 10 hours per week, maintain a professional attitude and attire, and put forth the effort in their duties as there will be important tasks to be completed.

Thank you for your interest in our internship program. WFAE serves a listening audience of more than 200,000 people within 22 counties in the region. Our program is open to college students, recent graduates and members of the community. Interns are required to be available for a minimum of 10 hours per week during daytime business hours in order to participate.  Internships are not available during evenings or weekends. Consistency in working hours is necessary in gaining full experience from this internship.
